BSU Music Scholarship Auditions to be Held at Bemidji State and MMEA Clinic

BEMIDJI, Minn. (Dec. 12, 2011) — The Department of Music at Bemidji State University is offering multiple scholarships to music students. Scholarships include full-tuition, housing, renewable $1,000 leadership awards, and numerous cash awards between $500 and $2,000.

Auditions are open to all instrumentalists and vocalists who are interested in participating in the music program at BSU and who will be entering college in the fall of 2012.

Auditions on the BSU campus will be held Feb. 25 in the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex. The music department will also conduct auditions at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Clinic in Minneapolis.  Students attending the MMEA Clinic will be able to audition for a BSU music scholarship on Feb. 17 from 1-3 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church (close to the clinic location).

Students who have conflicts with the Feb. 17 and 25 dates can schedule an on-campus audition at other times.  Recorded auditions are accepted for all but full-tuition scholarships. Interested students are encouraged to complete applications and reserve audition times well in advance of the scheduled dates.

Students who would like to schedule an audition in either Bemidji or Minneapolis should contact coordinator Susan Nelson at snelson@bemidjistate.edu or (218) 755-3364.
