Bemidji State's 2010-11 men's basketball season underway

Bemidji, Minn. (Nov. 23, 2010) Ė Bemidji State Universityís menís basketball team is heading into another season under the guidance of head coach Matt Bowen.

Since Bowen became the 19th head menís basketball coach at Bemidji State in 2006, the Beavers have made great strides on the court. Bowen now enters his fifth season at the helm after spending 15 years as an assistant coach at the Division I level.

Bowen guided the squad to a 12-15 overall finish and and 8-12 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference record last season, finishing 11th in the conference.

The Beavers opened their 2010-11 season with a 101-88 loss at Michigan Tech on Nov. 16, then rebounded with an 84-63 victory at Finlandia on Nov. 17. Bemidji State opens the home portion of its 2010-11 campaign against Wisconsin-Stout on Nov. 23.
