Bemidji, Minn.  (Nov. 4, 2011) - Students for the Environment (SFE) is a student-run organization that focuses on environmental issues, on and off the Bemidji State University campus. Meetings are held weekly to explore various aspects of sustainability, and environmental issues. Through volunteer work, campaigns, projects, SFE strives to educate students on campus, promote lifestyle changes, and advocates for a healthier planet. In 2009 and 2010, SFE won the Outstanding Student Organization Program (Do It In the Dark) award.

The SFE is based out of the Bemidji State Sustainability Office that serves as a facilitator in the University’s move towards sustainability. Through a collaborative process involving staff, students, faculty and administrators, and SFE and the Sustainability Office work towards making Bemidji State a more ecologically and economically sustainable campus community.
