Chancellor McCormick to present president-elect of BSU/NTC on May 20

BEMIDJI, Minn. (May 6, 2010) — On Thursday, May 20, representatives of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and Chancellor James H. McCormick are scheduled to visit Bemidji to present the president-elect of Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College.

Chancellor McCormick will recommend one semifinalist to the system’s Board of Trustees; the board will vote on that recommendation at a May 18-19 meeting. The May 20 presentation of the president-elect is being scheduled in anticipation of board approval of McCormick’s recommendation.

Presentation of the president-elect will take place at 1:30 p.m. in Bemidji State University’s Beaux Arts Ballroom and at 2:30 p.m. in the NTC Commons at Northwest Technical College. Receptions will follow the presentation ceremonies scheduled for both organizations.

The three semifinalists for the position are Dr. Linda T. Krug, on sabbatical after an 11-year tenure as dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Duluth; Dr. Richard A. Hanson, interim president at North Dakota State University; and Dr. Betsy Vogel Boze, senior fellow at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
