April 19 Traditional Skills Workshop on houseplants

BEMIDJI, Minn. (April 12, 2012) — Bemidji State University will host its monthly Traditional Skills Workshop on Thursday, April 19, with a look at the many benefits of mainaining healthy houseplants.

Led by Erika Bailey-Johnson, sustainability coordinator at Bemidji State, participants in the workshop will learn about several different varieties of houseplants, particularly those that are low-maintenance, and learn the positive effect healthy plans can have on indoor air quality. Workshop participants also will learn how to properly re-pot a plant, and will be able to take their plant home with them.

The workshop will be held Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Sustainability Office on the BSU campus.

The workshop carries a $7 fee for non-students; BSU students can participate free with a valid ID. Payment can be made on the day of the workshop.
