Optivation offering project management workshop

Optivation, a custom training venture operated by Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College, will offer an online course in project management beginning April 15.

The course begins April 15 and runs through May 26; it carries a registration fee of $450. Advance registration is encouraged by April 8.

This course covers the fundamentals of project management. Participants will gain an understanding of the project management framework, develop a project charter and craft a project management plan using student-provided projects approved by the instructor.

This is a project-based applied learning course. Participants are strongly encouraged to use existing or planned projects at their place of work.

The course instructor is Mike Wellcome, who has professional experience in business process improvement, electronic commerce, grant writing and administration, strategic planning and project management. He has a bachelor’s degree in vocational education and a master’s degree in organization and management.
