Bemidji State’s women’s rugby club won the Minnesota Division 3 state championship on Oct. 28, defeating Minnesota State, Moorhead, 25-17. BSU defeated Carleton College, 20-10, on Oct. 27 to advance to the state final. Carleton College entered the Oct. 27 game as an undefeated defending national champion.<\/p>\n
The state championship allowed Bemidji State to advance to the West Region Championship, sponsored by the National Small College Rugby Organization on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. BSU fell to Wayne State by a score of 88-0.<\/p>\n
As regional champion, Wayne State advances to the NSCRO national championship that will take place Nov. 17-18 in Cherry Hill, N.J.<\/p>\n
