Sustainable Tuesdays are held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Rail River Folk School, located at 303 Railroad St. SW in Bemidji. They are open free to the public.<\/p>\n

\nShirley Nordrum of the Indigenous Foods Coalition and Simone Senogles from the Indigenous Environmental Network will present on native food systems, health, sustainability, and other aspects of the region’s indigoes food culture.<\/p>\n
\nLeslie Harper and Kim Anderson from the Niigaane Immersion School will host an airing of the award-winning documentary, “First Speakers: Restoring the Ojibwe Language.” The film examines efforts by today’s scholars to work with the remaining elders who speak fluent Ojibwe in hopes of passing the language on to future generations.<\/p>\n
