More than a dozen student filmmakers are vying for the top prize Bemidji State University’s second annual Headwaters Film Festival, April 11-12.<\/p>\n
Thirteen student filmmakers from schools across the United States — and one from Spain — have submitted 14 works for consideration at the festival’s Student FilmFest, which will award a $500 top prize. The films cover a broad variety of genres, including documentary, narrative, silent musicals and experimental animation. In addition to being screened at the festival, the films also will be broadcast on BSU’s student-run television station, KBSU-TV.<\/p>\n
Student FilmFest submissions must have been completed no earlier than March 2013. In addition to the $500 grand prize, there is a $250 second prize and two $125 awards for third prize and people’s choice. There also will be a Jury’s Special Award.<\/p>\n
