Bemidji State University’s American Indian Resource Center will host its fifth annual scholarship golf tournament at Bemidji’s Castle Highlands golf course, Aug. 2.<\/p>\n

The four-person Texas-style best-ball tournament begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start; registration and pre-tournament games beginning at 8:30 a.m. The tournament carries a $400 entry fee per four-person team. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, carts for each team, lunch in the clubhouse and prizes for the winning teams.<\/p>\n

The tournament will feature a variety of hole prizes, including closest to the pin on each Par 3, longest drive and longest putt made for both men and women.<\/p>\n

The first place team wins $400, with second and third places taking home $300 and $200, respectively.<\/p>\n

A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will go toward scholarships and retention initiatives for American Indian students at BSU.<\/p>\n

Castle Highlands golf course is located in Turtle River, Minn., 10 miles north of Bemidji on Highway 71.<\/p>\n
