The panels will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Crying Wolf Room in BSU&rsquo;s lower Hobson Memorial Union and are open free to the public. Refreshments will be available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, March 17<\/strong><br>\n<a style=\"color: #993333\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/directory\/facstaff\/cbakken\">Colleen Bakken<\/a>, adjunct instructor in English, will lead a discussion on food sustainability and the benefits of eating food grown locally and seasonally entitled &ldquo;Food Security.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, March 18<\/strong><br>\nA BSU student panel will discuss local initiatives related to environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, March 19<\/strong><br>\nSimone Senogles with the&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #993333\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0CCgQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ienearth.org%2F&amp;ei=HBEiU6HoF8nc2gXm3IHYBg&amp;usg=AFQjCNEML7pcf-D6vfgH4_mT0hbRU743Dw&amp;sig2=S4zfDAcwbERcXP2lTNwaKQ&amp;bvm=bv.62922401,d.b2I\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Indigenous Environmental Network<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a>&nbsp;will discuss the network&rsquo;s efforts on both the local and global scales and how women in the network are working for change in a presentation entitled &ldquo;Glocal IEN Efforts.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, March 20<\/strong><br>\nA Bemidji State faculty panel of&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #993333\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/directory\/facstaff\/jli\">Josefina Li<\/a>, faculty member in economics;&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #993333\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/directory\/facstaff\/ctownsend\">Carolyn Townsend<\/a>, associate professor of nursing; and&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #993333\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/directory\/facstaff\/dmeijer\">Denise Meijer<\/a>, assistant professor of nursing will present a variety of global issues at a panel entitled &ldquo;Faculty Global Research Panel.&rdquo; Li will discuss environmental issues related to population and economics in China; Townsend will share research on how vaccinations relate to the environment and global health; and Meijer will share insights into the ways water storage, food security and improved health affect African women and environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&rsquo;s History Month Film Screenings<\/strong><br>\nBSU is also holding free film screenings at 7 p.m., March 20-21, in Hagg-Sauer 100.
