More than 400 attendees and 100 Bemidji State University student-athletes gathered at the Sanford Center Saturday night for the inaugural Green & White Dinner and Auction to Benefit BSU Athletics.<\/p>\n
Net proceeds from tickets, bids on 93 silent auction and seven live auction items, as well as other activities, totaled more than $104,000. Also included in that sum were individual donations totaling $21,800 to “Build a Scholarship” – a special effort to raise additional scholarship dollars for student-athletes.<\/p>\n
Soccer player Tiffany VanHaaften, a graduating senior from Chaska, and men’s basketball player Maxie Rosenbloom, a graduating senior from St. Paul, shared their student-athlete experiences and expressed gratitude to those who had helped them succeed at Bemidji State.<\/p>\n
Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tracy Dill complimented those present, volunteers and the community for their support of men’s and women’s athletic programs at BSU.<\/p>\n
“Through the efforts of many volunteers, university staff and student–athletes, the evening was a success in many ways,” Dill said. “Most importantly, it provides an opportunity to continue to build partnerships for the future and share in the dreams of our students.”<\/p>\n
