<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\tA touring exhibit featuring work by ceramic artists who have won McKnight Fellowships or Residencies from the Minneapolis-based Northern Clay Center is coming to Bemidji State University’s Talley Gallery.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, Six McKnight Artists, which opens March 2 and runs through April 3, includes work by four artists who won 2012 McKnight Residency Awards and two 2013 McKnight Fellows.<\/p>\n
The fellowship winners are Keisuke Mizuno<\/i><\/a> of Robbinsdale, Minn., and Kimberlee Joy Roth<\/i><\/a> from Minneapolis, and the residency recipients are Pattie Chalmers<\/i><\/a> from Carbondale, Ill.; Haejung Lee<\/i><\/a> from Baton Rouge, La.; Ann-Charlotte Olsson<\/i><\/a> from Rønne, Denmark; and Nick Renshaw<\/i><\/a> from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.<\/p>\n • Exhibit catalog (528k PDF<\/a>)<\/p>\n The McKnight Artist Fellowships and Residencies for Ceramic Artists programs are designed to strengthen and enhance Minnesota’s artistic community. Fellowships help offset studio and living expenses, and allow artists to experiment with new materials and techniques and build upon ideas within their work. Residencies are granted to artists outside Minnesota for a three-month stay at the Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n Each year, the center develops an exhibit of fellowship and residency recipients which is then toured around Minnesota. The Six McKnight Artists visit to Bemidji will conclude the exhibition’s current three-stop tour. It previously visited Winona State University and the MacRostie Art Center in Grand Rapids, Minn.<\/p>\n Six McKnight Artists, and all activities at the Talley Gallery, are supported by Bemidji State’s student body through the Student Activity Feel Allocation Committee.<\/p>\n About the Talley Gallery Contact Links Bemidji State University<\/b>, located in northern Minnesota’s lake district, occupies a wooded campus along the shore of Lake Bemidji.
