Bill Blackwell, Jr., executive director of the AIRC, hosted a welcome ceremony to kick off a day of presentations featuring BSU students and faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The event concluded with a Round Dance and Community Dinner, with attendees encouraged to bring a dish to contribute to the meal.<\/p>\n<p>Presenters included Dr. Nicky Michael, assistant professor of indigenous studies;&nbsp;<span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;\">BSU student Audrianna Goodwin;&nbsp;<\/span>Dr. John Gonzalez, professor of psychology;&nbsp;<span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;\">Michael Lane, assistant professor of indigenous studies;&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;\">Dr. Anton Treuer, professor of Ojibwe; and&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: 1rem;\">BSU students Naomi Johnson, John Daniel and Madeline Treuer.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bemidji State University\u2019s American Indian Resource Center hosted a full day of activities to recognize Indigenous Peoples and Treaty Day on Oct. 9.
