\"Badge:<\/a>Research conducted by Bemidji State University Assistant Professor of English Dr. Larry Swain was recently published in “Illuminating Jesus in the Middle Ages<\/i><\/a>,” a compilation in which medieval scholars analyze images and ideas about Jesus between the 6th and 15th centuries.<\/p>\n

Swain’s contribution, “The ‘Hælend’ and Other Images of Jesus in Anglo-Saxon England,” (PDF preview<\/i><\/a>) explores the identity of Jesus and the presence of Christianity in Northern Europe as presented in the “Hælend,” an Anglo-Saxon adaptation of the Bible.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Swain co-edited a volume in the “Studies in Medieval and Early Modern Culture” series titled “Teaching Beowulf: Practical Approaches” with Aaron Hostetter, associate professor of old and middle English at Rutgers University-Camden located in New Jersey. The volume will be published in 2020 by Medieval Institute Publications.<\/p>\n
