Three Bemidji State University Department of Music faculty members have released recorded works over the past months. Drs. Hilary Lowery and Miriam Webber, assistant professors of music, are scheduled to release albums spring 2023.<\/p>\n

Dr. Stephen Carlson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dr. Stephen Carlson<\/strong>, professor of music, released “Live in Recital,” a solo performance of various piano works from Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Joseph Haydn, Béla Bartók, Claude Debussy and Franz Liszt.<\/p>\n

“Live in Recital” is available on major music streaming platforms and by contacting Dr. Stephen Carlson at Stephen.Carlson@bemidjistate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Dr.
Dr. Cory Renbarger<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Drs. Stephen Carlson and Cory Renbarger<\/strong>, associate professor of music, released a version of “Winterreise”, or “Winter Journey”, by Austrian composer Franz Schubert. Originally composed in 1827, the production consists of 24 songs that tell the story of a young man who journeys into a winter landscape to cope with the pain of a lost love.<\/p>\n

“Winterreise” can be streamed online on most major music streaming platforms. CDs can be purchased by contacting Carlson or Renbarger at Stephen.Carlson@bemidjistate.edu<\/a> or Cory.Renbarger@bemidjistate.edu<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Jennifer Olson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dr. Jennifer Olson<\/strong>, assistant professor of vocal music, released a collection of vocal works titled “Cantos y Cuentos,” which translates to “Songs and Tales.” The collection features Venezuelan pianist and conductor Dr. Ana María Otamendi, assistant professor of collaborative piano at Louisiana State University, and marks the second collaboration between Olson and Otamendi.<\/p>\n
