\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n<p>Eight students presented research, which covered topics including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>reintegration and recidivism after incarceration<\/li>\n<li>determinants of child abuse and neglect<\/li>\n<li>student athletes and mental health<\/li>\n<li>foster care and adoption<\/li>\n<li>causes of suicide among LGBTQIA+ youth<\/li>\n<li>addiction-related crime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&ldquo;The students have been diligently working on their research all semester,&rdquo; Emily Paine, assistant professor of social work, said. &ldquo;They have had great discussions for not only what the concerns are for their topics, but how to think about creating change within a community.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<h2>About Social Work<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/academics\/social-work\/\">BSU Department of Social Work<\/a> offers a social work major, addictions minor and alcohol and drug counselor certificate.
