(March 30, 2011) &mdash; Eighteen students from Bemidji State University&rsquo;s Department of Visual Arts will have work on display in the University&rsquo;s Talley Gallery as part of the department&rsquo;s annual scholarship show.<\/p>\n<p>The show, &ldquo;Contrast,&rdquo; opens Monday, April 4, and continues through May 3. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at the gallery from noon to 3 p.m. on April 4.<\/p>\n<p>Students competing in this year&rsquo;s show were free to create works in any media featuring an interpretation of the word &ldquo;contrast.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Each year through generous contributions by donors to the Department of Visual Arts through the BSU Foundation, scholarships and awards are granted to Bemidji State students with a major or minor in art. This year, a total of $12,000 will be awarded.<\/p>\n<p>The Talley Gallery is located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on the campus of Bemidji State University.
