BEMIDJI, Minn. (March 30, 2011) — Eighteen students from Bemidji State University’s Department of Visual Arts will have work on display in the University’s Talley Gallery as part of the department’s annual scholarship show.<\/p>\n

The show, “Contrast,” opens Monday, April 4, and continues through May 3. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at the gallery from noon to 3 p.m. on April 4.<\/p>\n

Students competing in this year’s show were free to create works in any media featuring an interpretation of the word “contrast.”<\/p>\n

Each year through generous contributions by donors to the Department of Visual Arts through the BSU Foundation, scholarships and awards are granted to Bemidji State students with a major or minor in art. This year, a total of $12,000 will be awarded.<\/p>\n

The Talley Gallery is located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on the campus of Bemidji State University. It is barrier-free and open at no charge to the public.<\/p>\n
