BEMIDJI, Minn. (April 8, 2011)<\/strong> — Twenty-four Bemidji State University students served on the editorial board and staff for the 2011 edition of “New Voices,” one of four literary publications produced annually by University students and faculty.<\/p>\n

“New Voices” was initiated by the Department of English in 1975. The anthology is intended to provide students with an opportunity to have their writing reviewed by experienced faculty and published in a broader forum.<\/p>\n

“New Voices” is open to students enrolled in Minnesota high schools in grades 10, 11 and 12; home-schooled students are included.<\/p>\n

Faculty advisors for the 2011 edition of “New Voices” are Lauren Cobb, associate professor of English; Maureen Gibbon, associate professor of English; and Rosalie Benoit Weaver, professor of English. Christine Harris, an office and administrative assistant in Hagg-Sauer Hall, also supported the publication.<\/p>\n

The University also publishes anthologies of works by men, women and BSU students.<\/p>\n
