BEMIDJI, Minn. (Aug. 26, 2011)<\/strong> — Bemidji State University’s Optivation venture has training courses for persons seeking boiler operator licenses and online classes on consulting and successful sales and effective marketing scheduled for early September.<\/p>\n

Sept. 8 – Boiler Operator License – High and Low Pressure<\/strong>
\nThis offering is for those interested in high and low pressure boiler operation. This course will be held every Monday and Thursday from 5-9 p.m. starting Sept. 8 and ending Oct. 10. This 40-hour course prepares the participant for the State Boiler’s Exam that will be held In Detroit Lakes on Oct. 20.
\nLocation: Bridgeman 100, Bemidji State University campus. Fee: $425.

Sept. 12 –  How to Be a Consultant<\/strong>
\nClass participants in this online course will learn how to begin the process of becoming a consultant and devise a strategy for success as well as things to avoid. This course begins Sept. 12 and runs through Oct. 16. Students will learn what it means to be a “consultant business” and in charge of everything from marketing to contracts. Participants will learn the importance of building relationships and the importance of selling their value. Venture into the world of consulting!

Sept. 12 –  Effective Sales and Marketing<\/strong>
\nThis online course will allow you to recognize opportunities in your community to build and expand relationships important to sales and marketing. Success in sales and marketing means fully understanding your own company or business, your own product or service, which ultimately provides a deeper comprehension of sales\/marketing. Once you believe you understand your business or company, you will learn how social factors affect the industry. This course will provide skills and knowledge that can be applied to performance in sales and to activities in marketing.
