{"id":728,"date":"2008-09-24T08:33:16","date_gmt":"2008-09-24T14:33:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/?p=728"},"modified":"2021-11-01T15:52:03","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T20:52:03","slug":"728","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2008\/09\/24\/728\/","title":{"rendered":"CRI to offer non-credit courses beginning in October"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BEMIDJI, Minn.<\/strong> &mdash; The Bemidji State University Center for Research and Innovation will be offering a series of non-credit courses beginning in October, covering a variety of topics from learning Quickbooks software to dealing with bullies.<\/p>\n<p>Some courses will be offered online, and some will be classroom courses at the CRI&rsquo;s off-campus facility located at 3801 Bemidji Ave. North in Bemidji.<\/p>\n<p>The course series begins Oct. 13 with a pair of courses taught by Dr. Charles Alberti, professor emeritus of education at Bemidji State. Available on-line, Alberti will be teaching courses entitled &ldquo;The Basics of Fundraising for Non-Profits&rdquo; and &ldquo;Dealing with Bullies.&rdquo; The registration fee for the fundraising course is $350, and the fee for the course on bullies will be $250. Both courses will run through Oct. 24.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning Oct. 20, Gary Sorenson, accounting instructor at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, will offer an online course on Intuit&rsquo;s Quickbooks financial management software. The registration fee for the Quickbooks course is $150, and the course will run through Nov. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Alberti will teach two classroom non-credit courses, one on Thursday, Oct. 30, entitled &ldquo;Teaching Children Skillful Thinking,&rdquo; and one on Thursday, Nov. 6, on time management.
