(Dec. 21, 2011) &mdash; Megumi Naitoh, a ceramic artist originally from Tokyo, will have a mosaic exhibition entitled &ldquo;Real Life\/Virtual Life&rdquo; opening Jan. 11 in the Talley Gallery in the Education Arts building on the Bemidji State University campus.<\/p>\n<p>The show will run Jan. 11-Feb. 15 with an opening reception for the exhibition held at the gallery from noon-3 p.m. on Jan. 11.<\/p>\n<p>Roman mosaics and their narratives of every day life inspired Naitoh to create a collection of works that represent modern daily life and the life people create on the Internet.&nbsp; Her unique mosaics are pixelated images with two vantage points. She is able to present two images, representing each world in a single mosaic. Through her work, guests will be able to see how the two worlds are intertwined and how easy it is to move from one to the other.<\/p>\n<p>Naitoh received her master&rsquo;s degree from Massachusetts College of Art and her bachelor&rsquo;s degree from San Diego State University.&nbsp; Naitoh is currently an associate professor of art at Emmanuel College in Boston.<\/p>\n<p>Located in room 212 of the Education Arts building on BSU campus, the Talley Gallery is barrier-free and open at no charge to the public. All activities in the Talley Gallery are supported by the University&rsquo;s Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee.
