(April 12, 2012)<\/strong> &mdash; Bemidji State University will host its monthly Traditional Skills Workshop on Thursday, April 19, with a look at the many benefits of mainaining healthy houseplants.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Erika Bailey-Johnson, sustainability coordinator at Bemidji State, participants in the workshop will learn about several different varieties of houseplants, particularly those that are low-maintenance, and learn the positive effect healthy plans can have on indoor air quality. Workshop participants also will learn how to properly re-pot a plant, and will be able to take their plant home with them.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will be held Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Sustainability Office on the BSU campus.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop carries a $7 fee for non-students; BSU students can participate free with a valid ID. Payment can be made on the day of the workshop.<\/p>\n<p>As space is limited, interested participants are encouraged to register in advance, either in person at the University&rsquo;s Sustainability Office, located in the lower Hobson Memorial Union, or by contacting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/directory\/facstaff\/ebaileyjohnson\">Erika Bailey-Johnson<\/a>, Bemidji State University sustainability coordinator, at (218) 755-2560.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BEMIDJI, Minn.
