{"id":9496,"date":"2012-08-31T13:47:00","date_gmt":"2012-08-31T18:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bemidjistate.edu\/bsutoday\/?p=9496"},"modified":"2021-11-01T15:20:46","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T20:20:46","slug":"john-latimer-phenology-presentation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/news\/2012\/08\/31\/john-latimer-phenology-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"Local phenologist John Latimer to present at BSU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John Latimer, a rural mail carrier and staff member at KAXE Radio in Grand Rapids, Minn., will visit Bemidji State University on Sept. 6 to discuss the cycles of natural activities in the Northwoods.<\/p>\n<p>Latimer is KAXE&rsquo;s staff phenologist, studying nature&rsquo;s cycles &mdash; when ice comes off the lake, when raspberries are ready to pick, when loons and monarch butterflies migrate.<\/p>\n<p>His presentation will be from 2-3:15 p.m. in Hagg-Sauer 100 on the BSU campus; it is open to the public free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Latimer hosts a phenology show on KAXE radio, and shares stories, photos and video from his exploration of northern Minnesota at the station&rsquo;s website.
