BSU is committed to creating a university culture in which diversity is embraced and all people are safe, welcome, and validated – as committed to in the Bemidji State University Strategic Plan. The #BeaverFamily campaign was created to welcome and introduce our new faculty and staff, along with highlighting current employees!
Emma Terres
Assistant Women’s Hockey Coach for Bemidji State University
Start Date: August 2020
Q: Where are you from?
New Hope, Minnesota
Q: Why did you choose BSU?
I went to school at BSU from 2014-2018 and played for the women’s hockey team. I fell in love with Bemidji because of the phenomenal athletic facilities, community aspect, access to nature, and the small town feel! It was the best 4 years and now I love it as a faculty member.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish at BSU?
I want to create the best possible experience for student athletes as well as a championship team/culture.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to be outdoors. This summer I bought a roof top tent and fell in love with camping. I also love to wake surf, cook, and travel. I just spent the past 2 years in Germany playing professional hockey in two different cities; Ingolstadt and Berlin. I was able to travel and explore 13 different countries.
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat?
OH there are so many amazing food places in Bemidji… but my two favorites have to be Ruttger’s and Tara.
Welcome to the #BeaverFamily, Emma. We’re excited you chose to join us at Bemidji State University!
