#BeaverFamily Feature: Adam Berg

BSU is committed to creating a university culture in which diversity is embraced and all people are safe, welcome, and validated – as committed to in the Bemidji State University Strategic Plan. The #BeaverFamily campaign was created to welcome and introduce our new faculty and staff, along with highlighting current employee’s.

Adam Berg
Area Director
Start Date: August 16, 2021

Q:Where are you from?

Essig, MN – a small town of roughly 50 people, located about a half hour North of Mankato.

Q:Why did you choose BSU?

I graduated from BSU in 2016. I was working outside of higher education for roughly nine months as a result of the pandemic. I was made aware of the Area Director position needing to be filled here, and something about it just felt like the right choice for me. I am so happy to be home!

Q:What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy golfing, collecting Funko Pops, and relaxing at home with my cat, Maisie, and my partner, Riah. In our relaxation time we like to watch TV. Specifically, we have been watching Midnight Mass, Grace and Frankie, various True Crime and Supernatural shows/documentaries (especially Buzzfeed Unsolved) and re-watching Bob’s Burgers and Ted Lasso.

Q:If you had the opportunity to meet one person, who would it be and why??

I would have loved to meet Chris Farley. I just love his wild, goofy energy, and I loved watching “Tommy Boy” growing up.

Q:Where is your favorite place to eat in Bemidji?

When I was a student here, I had a love for Bar 209! I still really enjoy their food, but there have been some places that were not here when I was a student that I have really taken a liking to. If I want something simple, I love going over to Lucky Dogs for a “Dip Stick” – a hot dog with peanut butter, jalapeño jam, and banana slices!

Welcome to the #BeaverFamily, Adam. We’re so excited you chose to join us at Bemidji State University!
