Using Tables in WordPress

HTML tables should be used for tabular data — this is what they are designed for.  A table is a structured set of data made up of of rows and columns (tabular data). A table allows you to quickly and easily look up values that indicate some kind of connection between different types of data.

Accessing tables in WordPress

  1. Go to the editor toolbar and click on the toggle toolbar icon if the toolbar is not already expanded in two rows.
  2. In the 2nd row of the editor toolbar, click on the table icon to expand your options,

Adding a table

  1. To add a table to your page, in your editor click to place your cursor in the location where you want the table.
  2. Use the instructions above to access the table options in WordPress.
  3. Click the square to Insert the size table that you need.

Adding rows or columns to an existing table

  1. To add rows or columns to an existing table, in your editor click to place your cursor in an adjacent row or column in your table.
  2. Use the instructions above to access the table options in WordPress.
  3. Click on rows or columns in the table toolbar to insert before or after your selection.
