David & Kathryn Sorensen Full-Tuition Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a Minnesota High School graduate with preference given to a Minnesota public school. This scholarship is only available to current junior and senior students enrolled full-time at Bemidji State University with a minimum academic cumulative grade point average of 2.70. The scholarship funds will be applied to the 2022-2023 academic year. Fall 2022 tuition already paid will be refunded through the scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded in recognition of students who embrace and practice the values of community leadership. Community leadership is exhibited by characteristics that work to improve the environment in which we learn, live, work, recreate, and serve. These characteristics should be either embodied in and/or demonstrated by striving to achieve the following behaviors: exhibits integrity, leads innovation, energizes and leads others, and delivers results. The student chosen for this scholarship will be seated on the President’s Student Commission in the year this scholarship is received.

GPA Verification

By submitting your application, you give the selection committee permission to gain access to your academic record. Student Commissioners must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 to obtain and remain in their positions. The recipient of the David & Kathryn Sorensen Leadership Scholarship must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7.
