{"id":417,"date":"2015-06-23T16:44:51","date_gmt":"2015-06-23T16:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/sustainability\/?page_id=417"},"modified":"2022-02-17T10:32:41","modified_gmt":"2022-02-17T16:32:41","slug":"strategic-plan-for-sustainability","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/sustainability\/commitments\/strategic-plan-for-sustainability\/","title":{"rendered":"Strategic Plan for Sustainability"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bemidji State University published its first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/sustainability\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2015\/06\/2008-2013-BSU-Strategic-Plan-for-Sustainability.pdf\">Strategic Plan for Sustainability<\/a> in 2009 for the years 2008-2013.\u00a0 During those 5 years we focused on three main strategies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reduce our carbon footprint<\/li>\n<li>Model stewardship of land and water<\/li>\n<li>Motivate, educate, and outreach on sustainability issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/sustainability\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2015\/06\/Sustainability-Office-Progress-Report-2016.pdf\">Sustainability Progress Report<\/a>\u00a0for 2008 &#8211; 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2016 &#8211; 2017 academic year, we engaged with a new Strategic Planning process. We held 6 meetings with people from across BSU and NTC as well as the broader community to help identify and define our sustainability goals over the next 3 years.<\/p>\n<p>We have created a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bemidjistate.edu\/offices\/sustainability\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2015\/06\/Sustainability-Plan-Framework-TO-SHARE.pdf\">Sustainability Plan Framework Document<\/a> that sets the stage for our efforts from 2017 &#8211; 2020.
