The benefits of getting involved are not only meeting new friends, finding “like-minded” students, enjoying social activities together, confirming your major, but employers see student involvement as a way to build a skill set. Examples of some skills you can develop (and employers look for) are:

Many major-specific clubs will provide opportunities to network with employers in the field, take trips to various employer locations and give students the opportunity to interact with faculty advisors outside of the classroom.
