Employers want to hire applicants who have these in-demand skills and strengths.<\/p>\n<h2>What Is Career Readiness<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naceweb.org\/career-readiness\/competencies\/career-readiness-defined\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Career readiness<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a> is a foundation from which to demonstrate requisite core competencies that broadly prepare the college educated for success in the workplace and lifelong career management.<\/p>\n<p>Curious how career-ready you are? Head to the Am I Career Ready module in Student Resources under the Career Planning tile to find out!<\/p>\n<h2>Competencies for Career Readiness<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Career &amp; Self Development<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proactively develop oneself and one&rsquo;s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one&rsquo;s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities and networking to build relationships within and without one&rsquo;s organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/virtualspeech.com\/blog\/importance-of-communication-skills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Communication<i title=\"External link\" class=\"bsu-icon bsu-icon-external-link small ms-1\"><\/i><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Critical Thinking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Identify and respond to needs based upon an understanding of situational context and logical analysis of relevant information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equity &amp; Inclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Demonstrate the awareness, attitude, knowledge and skills required to equitably engage and include people from different local and global cultures.
