Bemidji State University is committed to providing you a safe place for learning. Violence and violations of individual rights and privacy have a heavy impact on your environment. These violations may include sexual misconduct, physical assault, theft, vandalism, stalking, unauthorized entry, and all forms of electronic harassment. Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness was developed to address these issues.
Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness (PETSA) is a Bemidji State University program designed to prevent violence, privacy violations, and harassment by fostering a safe and civil campus community. PETSA is intended to enhance your success at Bemidji State University by providing information about health and safety, responsible decision-making, university resources and support services.
If you are a BSU student who is enrolled in one or more credits your are required to complete the course as a condition of your continued enrollment. You must complete the program in order to register for the next term.
Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness is delivered online using the D2L Brightspace course management system. D2L provides a password-protected environment. You only need a computer, Internet access, and a browser to use the features provided in D2L Brightspace.
If you have completed Personal Empowerment Through Self-Awareness at another Minnesota State College and University previously you may be exempt from this requirement. Contact the Health Education Coordinator at the Student Center for Health and Counseling for more information (218) 755-2080.
