BSU Foundation Scholarships (One Common application<\/a>) Deadline Extended to March 3<\/h4>\n
Beverly and Kenneth Henriques Scholarship<\/h5>\n

Amount:<\/strong> Up to $300
\nDeadline:<\/strong> Feb. 15 each year
\nCriteria:<\/strong> To support foreign studies by Minnesota residents who are students at BSU, or to support study at BSU by students who are citizens of a foreign country.\u00a0 To be eligible, students must be attending BSU in good academic standing.\u00a0 Preference shall be given to students who attended Lincoln School, Bemidji, Minnesota.\u00a0 Awards shall be made to students who, in the opinion of the awarding authority , may benefit greatest from the experience of foreign study, or in the case of foreign nationals who might benefit most from study at BSU.<\/p>\n

Harry F. Bangsberg Memorial Scholarship<\/h5>\n

Amount:<\/strong> Up to $800
\nDeadline:<\/strong> Feb. 15 each year
\nCriteria:<\/strong> Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Grad student participating in an Education Abroad Program.\u00a0 Preference to student with emphasis in Asian Studies who meets all the other award criteria, but if no such student applies, the award shall then be made available to students who participate in an education abroad experience and who meet other established criteria, even if they are not focused on Asian studies.\u00a0 Minimum GPA of 2.5<\/p>\n

Marshall China Studies <\/strong>Scholarship<\/h5>\n

Amount:<\/strong> Up to $600
\nDeadline:<\/strong> Feb. 15 each year
\nCriteria:<\/strong> Study of China and Chinese people.<\/p>\n

Richard and Evelyn Krummel Memorial Scholarship<\/h5>\n

Amount:<\/strong> Up to $1000

\nCriteria: <\/strong>Participant in the Education Abroad Program and studying in a non-English speaking country. Successfully completed one course in the Global Perspective area of the liberal arts requirement. A sophomore, junior, or senior who meets all the requirements of the Education Abroad Program.<\/p>\n

Robert and Jacqueline Decker Scholarship<\/h5>\n

Amount:<\/strong> Up to $1000

Hagan Scholarship Foundation<\/a><\/h6>\n

Description:<\/strong> Eligible recipients will have the opportunity to visit and explore another country, experience its culture, and earn college credits.\u00a0The award amount will pay all program costs including tuition, fees, room and board, round trip airfare and incidental expenses, up to $8,000.<\/p>\n

Fulbright Student Program<\/a><\/h6>\n

In partnership with more than 140 countries worldwide, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers unparalleled opportunities in all academic disciplines to passionate and accomplished graduating college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals from all backgrounds. Program participants pursue graduate study, conduct research, or teach English abroad.<\/p>\n

During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences.\u00a0 The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others\u2019 viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, individuals will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.<\/p>\n

Description:<\/b>\u00a0Intended to expand global opportunities for students from all backgrounds who are pursuing post-secondary degrees. This is a paid internship with the opportunity to work in U.S. embassies and consulates throughout the world, as well as in various bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Department offices around the United States. This program is designed to provide substantive learning experiences in a foreign affairs environment.

Critical Language Scholarship<\/a><\/h6>\n

The LUCE Scholars Program<\/a><\/h6>\n

Description<\/strong>: the LUCE Scholars Program is a competitive leadership development fellowship that provides emerging leaders with immersive professional experiences in Asia. In partnership with The Asia Foundation, which has offices in each of the countries and regions where we place our Scholars, we aim to strengthen relationships across borders by offering Scholars opportunities to deepen their understanding of Asia\u2019s countries, cultures, and people.<\/p>\n

Description:<\/b>\u00a0The MEXT scholarships are for high school seniors, recent graduates, graduate or post-graduate students who intend to earn a degree from a Japanese university or study Japanese language and culture at a university in Japan for one year.
