Most Successful Freshman
For Academic Achievement And University Involvement
Nick Lampert started at Bemidji State University in the Fall 2013. Nick chose BSU, because it felt like home to him. As a freshman Nick has been successful not only in the classroom, but outside of the classroom.
Nick served as a University Ambassador, was active in recreational activities and involved in “Young Life”. Nick also served as a mentor at Academic Advising Registration, where he helped incoming TRiO participants learn more about BSU and create their schedule for next fall. Nick has had a great impact on students at BSU. Nick has been selected to serve as a PAA for the 2013/2014 academic year, and was selected for the Ronald McNair Scholars Program.
Most Involved Participant
For Outstanding Participation In Trio/SSS
Jenna Ronich was selected as the most involved TRiO student for a number of reasons. First, Jenna enrolled in all three courses that TRiO offered this semester. Not only has she had perfect or near perfect attendance in all three classes, she is always eager to participate in group activities and class discussions. Jenna is a great TRiO role model because she possesses a true love of learning as well as a strong desire to work hard and do her best in school.
For Sharing The Trio/SSS Experience And Actively Promoting The Program
Jordan Morgan is a determined and environmentally aware student who has a love for the environment and solar energy. He is at BSU to learn how he can positively impact the future and is willing to help others and to fight for causes he believes in. Last fall he took the TRiO petition forms and got over 200 signatures from students in the dorms. Not many students advocate so strongly for causes they believe in! So it’s very fitting he is the 2012-2013 TRiO Program Ambassador.
Student Of The Year
For Exemplary SSS Participation, Academic Achievement And University/Community Involvement
Anastasia Reinke started with TRiO/SSS in the Fall of 2009 at BSU. She was a very focused first year student with one specific career goal – to graduate from BSU with a Business Administration degree. Four years later, she is doing just that!
Anastasia will graduate from BSU with a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a Sociology minor. In addition to maintaining a good GPA, Anastasia was employed off campus working 30-35 hours a week. She has been an active member in the TRIO/SSS program, and we want to congratulate her and wish her the best of luck in the future.
