Special Education Intern Program

Students at Bemidji State University have the unique opportunity to participate in a paid internship, working in a special education classroom under the guidance of a licensed special education teacher. The Special Education Intern Program is a collaboration between BSU and the Bemidji school district to provide students with a variety of experiences typically handled by special education teachers. These experiences allow interns to apply theory that has been presented to them in BSU courses directly within the special education classroom.

In order to apply for the intern program, students must

• be enrolled in the BSU Special Education graduate program;
• have completed or be enrolled in ED 5600 Study of the Learner with Special Needs;.
• have a minimum GPA of 3.00.
