German Major, B.S. (Teacher Licensure)

Requirements for entry into and completion of teacher licensure programs, see Professional Education: Admission to, retention in, and Completion of Teacher Education Programs, this catalog.

I.Prerequisite

212 passed with C or better (not required if students enter with appropriate background). A score on the OPI exam of at least Intermediate Low.

II.Required Core

Subtotal: 19 credits

III. Directed Electives

To be chosen from 400 level literature and cultural sequence and 320-322 language skill courses.

Subtotal: 18 credits

IV. Guided Electives

To be chosen from related fields in consultation with advisor.

Subtotal: 6 credits

Proficiency Requirement

Teaching majors or minors in German should be at the Intermediate High level on speaking skills, and Advanced on reading and listening skills, and Advanced High on culture.
