Held during summer school, this program combines two weeks of lectures, field trips and cultural activities sponsored by Liaoning University in northeastern China with a two week study tour of China. Activities sponsored by Liaoning University include lectures on Chinese society, geography, history, business, economics and arts; field trips to areas of interest in Liaoning Province and to cultural events such as Peking Opera or acrobatics; visits to rural villages; meals with Chinese families; and ample opportunities to make Chinese friends. Through sharing the international student dormitory with students from Japan, Germany, Russia, and other countries; eating Chinese food in the dining hall; and social activities with Chinese students and staff; ample opportunity for cultural interaction is available.
After leaving Liaoning University, students visit Beijing, Xian, Guilin, and Guangzhou viewing China from north to south and seeing sites of historical and cultural importance. The study tour culminates with a three-day visit to Hong Kong, the former British colony which is now a part of the People's Republic of China.
Academic Credit: 8 semester credits applicable to liberal education, selected departmental electives, or general electives.
Offered during spring semester of each year, this program combines 5 weeks of study at Oxford, England with a three-week tour of continental Europe. Study in Oxford focuses, each year, on a different period of English and European culture on a four-year rotational cycle. The cycle begins with the medieval period and progresses through the 19th and early 20th centuries. While at Oxford, students live in Wycliffe Hall, one of the constituent halls of Oxford University. Following the Oxford study, the program concludes with a study tour through the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Academic Credit: Pre-trip course, 3 semester credits; Study program, 12 semester credits; applicable to liberal education, selected departmental electives, or general electives.
MSU-A is a branch campus of the Minnesota State University System located on the northern part of the island of Honshu. Situated in a rural area of Japan reminiscent of the traditional Japan of the past, but only an hour away from Tokyo by plane, students have ample opportunity to view both traditional and modern Japan. Course offerings include liberal education courses, Japanese language courses, and Japanese area studies courses. Students may study at Akita for one or two semesters or longer.

Kansai Gaidai University in Japan is located midway between Osaka and Kyoto. Its Asian Studies program includes courses in Japanese language, politics, history, business, marketing, society, literature, and studio arts. Students may live in a Japanese-style dormitory or with a Japanese family. Students in any major will benefit from study but the program is particularly suited to students in history, political science, and business. Students may study for one semester or one academic year.

Petaling Jaya Community College is located near Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Students have the opportunity to learn about the three dominant cultures, Chinese, Malay, and Indian and live with a Malaysian family while attending college. The curriculum includes a wide range of liberal education courses taught by PJCC and visiting professors, and students may opt to study for one semester or one academic year.

Located in the city of Vaxjo in southeastern Sweden, Vaxjo University offers semester programs in international economics, comparative politics, sociology/international studies, Intercultural studies, Scandinavian business, and international teacher training and a spring semester program in Swedish culture. Students may choose to live in a student dormitory or with Swedish families.
