Developmental/Adapted Physical Education Minor

This program meets the licensure requirements for adapted physical education in the State of Minnesota. In order to gain this licensure the student must also have completed the Physical Education Major, B.S. (Teacher Licensure).

I. Required Physical Education Courses

PHED 4207 Physical and Other Health Impairments (3 credits)
PHED 4211 Diagnostic and Assessment Strategies in D/APE (3 credits)
PHED 4212 Methods of Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (3 credits)
PHED 4970 Internship: D/APE Practicum (3 credits)

Subtotal 12 Credits

II. Required Special Education Courses

ED 3510 Sensory Integration in Young Children (3 credits)
ED 3600 Study of the Learner with Special Needs (3 credits)
ED 3610 Study of the Learner with Cognitive Disabilities (3 credits)
ED 3630 Teaching the Student with Behavior Disorders (2 credits)
ED 4750 Family, School, Community Relations (3 credits)

Subtotal 14 Credits

Total Semester Credits Required for Licensure 26 Credits
