Career and Technical Education

Because courses vary according to licensure chosen and because of licensure requirement changes, students should contact the Coordinator of Career and Technical Education for current information. The teacher training institution (BSU) does not license the career and technical education teacher. The Minnesota State Board of Teaching approves licensure for secondary career and technical education and the Technical College Board approves postsecondary and adult career and technical education licensure. For the purposes of the baccalaureate degree a minimum of 30 semester credits must be taken in residence. Any courses taught on extension at an area technical college at an approved career and technical education center or through the External Learning Center of Bemidji State University will be considered as courses in residence.

Teacher Coordinators of Work-Based Learning License Endorsement (K-12)

Teacher Coordinators of Work-Based Learning is a license endorsement for teachers who already possess a K-12 license. This endorsement permits an individual to serve as a Coordinator of Work-Based Learning for a school or district. Work-based learning provides students with an opportunity to learn through a variety of paid or unpaid work-based learning experiences. Please contact the Director of Career and Technical Education.
