TRIO/Student Support Services

TRIO/Student Support Services (TRIO/SSS), funded through the U.S. Department of Education, provides to eligible students academic advising and counseling, tutoring, mentoring, and courses (TRIO/SSS College Orientation, Critical Reading and Analysis, and Life Career Planning). To receive services, a student must meet TRIO income eligibility guidelines, be a first generation college student, and/or be a student with a disability. Beginning with AAR programs, SSS faculty assist students with academic, financial aid, and personal advising. Services are designed to enhance academic skills, persistence in college through to graduation, and potential for entry into graduate or professional school. TRIO/SSS courses are categorized as University Studies (UNIV) (see also these listings in Section VII). For further information, contact the TRIO/SSS office or visit their website.
