The opening of the mind and body to creativity, intellectual understanding, aesthetic responsiveness, and physical prowess is part of a liberal education. Participation in activities and performance enhances these qualities, and encourages individual potential.*Notes: Physical Education (PHED): minimum 2 quarter hour credits, maximum 4 quarter hour credits.
Physical disability exemption: Students who are temporarily or permanently disabled may substitute PHED 139 for any listed PHED course. Physician's recommendation is required. Under these circumstances, PHED 139 may be repeated one time.
No course except PHED 139 may be repeated for additional credits in this area.
Intercollegiate sport: Students may apply 1 quarter hour of intercollegiate sport credit to Area III requirements. Consent of instructor required.
* May be used to satisfy Area VII GMG.
