MUS 2607 Music Education I: Introduction (2 credits)
Introduction to general, vocal, and instrumental education for music
students preparing to teach. Includes observations in the public schools, introduction to teacher education, and a broad overview of instructional and learning theory, philosophy, developmental and motivational psychology, characteristics of the successful teacher, and commitment to the teaching profession. Completion of this course with a grade of "C" or better is required for all music degrees.
