TADD 2517 Printmaking: Relief (4 credits)

This course will introduce students to basic concepts involving relief printmaking techniques and aesthetic issues within traditional printmaking practices. Students will explore the hand processes of relief printmaking: woodcut, linoleum block, monotype, solar etching and collagraph. Slide lectures, videos, critiques, demonstrations, discussions and reflective writing will support farther development of students skills, along with learning how to evaluate visual art within historical and contemporary context.
