NRSG 3450 Holistic Nursing (2 credits)

This course introduces foundational principles and practices of holistic nursing, emphasizing the integration of body, mind, emotion, spirit, and environment in patient care. Students will explore core concepts aligned with the philosophical and theoretical foundations of holistic nursing as articulated in national professional frameworks. Emphasis is placed on self-reflection, self-care, and the development of a healing presence in the nurse¿patient relationship. Topics may include holistic assessment, integrative modalities, evidence-informed practice, and ethical considerations in holistic care. While this course incorporates concepts consistent with the holistic nursing philosophy, it does not meet the certification requirements of the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) certification exam. Prerequisite(s): Admitted to the major.
