This course is designed to give students the theoretical and methodological grounding used in discipline-based education research. Discipline-based education research (DBER) focuses on the teaching and learning of STEM classes in college settings, and answers questions about how curriculum and pedagogy impact learners. In this course, students will be introduced to the historic and current trends in DBER, learn and apply DBER methodologies to analyze data, and translate DBER findings to effective pedagogical strategies.
