The Addictions certificate prepares students with the knowledge and skills to practice as an addictions professional. In addition, the curriculum meets the specific course work requirements of the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor application. Educational eligibility for the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor licensure requires a four-year degree, 270 hours of classroom training and an 880 hour alcohol and drug counseling internship.
