TADD 2100 History, Philosophy, and Application of Color (3 credits)

This course is an exploration into the nature and meaning of color using methods of historical, philosophical, and experimental inquiry. Beyond discovering the history and philosophy of color, students in this course will learn how to apply color through creative projects. Learners will study hue, value, and chroma/saturation. Students will discover color systems that allow them to communicate color effectively. By the completion of this course, students will be able to combine colors with technology, art, design, and life. Students will discuss, analyze, and comprehend cultural meanings of color and its experience globally. Liberal Education Goal Areas 6 and 8.
