OJIB 3213 Ojibwe Oral Literature (4 credits)
Students will meet for the first several weeks to discuss, learn and be tested on their knowledge of Ojibwe oral literature and methodologies for its collection. In this class we will practice and reinforce the program student learning outcomes in the basic four skills of language learning: speaking, listening, writing, and especially reading. The last several weeks of the course are designed for students to meet, record, transcribe, translate and analyze oral literature that they themselves collect from fluent speakers in the region. Guidance will be given at all stages. Prerequisite(s) Ojibwe 2211 or instructor permission [Core Curriculum Goal Area 6] [Nisidotaading Course Requirement]
