An introductory level course (for students of all majors) intended to engage students in the study of theatrical acting and social performance, alongside careful textual and written analysis, as a means to reach deeper understandings of the humanities and arts and the usefulness of these fields in today's technically-driven, information-based world. HUM 3400 Integrated Research Writing with AI (3 credits)
This interdisciplinary course focuses on research skills in an AI-assisted context, grounding students in ethical and evidence-informed practices. Students explore multiple ways of knowing, including Indigenous knowledge and traditional research methods, while learning to use AI tools responsibly for data gathering, analysis, and synthesis. Course work emphasizes critical evaluation of sources, effective prompt engineering to support research queries, and reflective, inclusive communication. Students will be able to produce iterative, multimodal research projects that are ethically sound, well-supported, and ready to share in professional or academic contexts.
