The Ojibwe Education B.S. leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Education and prepares students for licensure in both a secondary teaching field and American Indian Languages and Cultures. The program combines coursework in professional education, Ojibwe language proficiency, Ojibwe culture and history, and field-based clinical experiences. Students complete requirements for licensure in either English Language Arts or Social Studies while also meeting requirements for the American Indian Languages and Cultures license. Graduates are prepared to teach Ojibwe language and culture in tribal, public, charter, and immersion school settings and to support Indigenous language revitalization efforts throughout Minnesota and the broader Ojibwe region.
